My My Life Impact
...At a very young age I had to grow up fast and help my mom out with the kids. It was five of us at the time, our dad went to prison and left my mom with everything. When my mom went to work I had to be a mom when she was not there at times. I had to put away my teenage ways and become a parent. It was very hard at times because my sister's and brother had respect for me instead of our mom. I got devastated at times, but I pulled it together. I had no life because I was being a parent to my siblings. In high school I was a very troubled teenager who did not have a sense of direction. My grades were not good the first 3 years of school; it was up and down from there; but I always got through it somehow. My last year of school I pulled it together and made honor roll the whole entire year. At the end of the year I received a reward for my accomplishment. At that moment I felt very important that year. After High school I enrolled in college as a criminal justice major, everything came back to me and I fell in the same situation that I was in when I was back home. When I left home to go to college that was the first time I felt like I was on my own, I did not have to be a parent anymore, and I was only responsible for myself. The two years that I had attended I was not ready for college. My focus was having a life because it was taken from me as a child. I enjoyed being a free with no curfew . The school suspended for six months, I never went back to school. At that very moment......

...The Effects of Teenage Relationships Different relationships affect teenagers in various ways. Friends impact teenagers almost the same amount as their parents. Teenagers go to their friends for help or to ask questions that they could not ask their parents about. Most of the time their friends give them good advice but then there is the down side when they put pressure on their friends to do something like to smoke, drink, and do drugs. In most cases they tell their friends how to dress and act when around certain people. Love relationships just make it even harder for a teenager to get a good education. Some start to fail in school because they are hanging out with their boyfriend or girlfriend instead of doing their work. Throughout adolescence, teenagers are positively and negatively impacted by several relationships such as friends, family, and love relationships. Friends have a big influence on teenagers because they can say and do many of things to teenagers who think they were friends. They also start rumors and take their friends girlfriend or boyfriend and have them cheat on their friend. Some go out to drink, smoke, or to do drugs just to have fun but some think of driving home and most teenagers do not even make it to their driveways. Some teenagers who are so depressed about their social problems even think about committing suicide. Most start to hurt others turn into “goth’s” by dressing in all black. Many of depressed people show how they feel by dressing......

A Life of a Teenager
...A Life of a Teenager I would of never thought that my early childhood into late childhood be the way that it was and me turning out to be Ok. I made many dreams of going to school to make something of myself, like being a model and a lawyer, but the way we plan our future doesn’t always work that way. In this paper I will tell you a little more about myself and how I became the strong women I am today. My life growing up was a tough path to travel. Learning and developing adulthood in my childhood was very tough. Although I think of my family as a little dysfunctional I do remember some good times. I remember when I was in the 4th grade (about 9 years old) we lived in West Virginia about 20 min from my grandparents. Every weekend we would go there to have lunch or just to see if my grandparents would need us to do anything for them. On Sunday’s we would all go to church with them, my grandparent are faithful church goers, after church we would meet at my grandparents house to fix a big lunch. Some friends of the family would join us; the kids would play in the yard. I can remember many of the weekends, I would stay to help them, mainly because I didn’t want to home. I remember, one summer we all help build an apartment over their garage for my great grandmother, because she no longer could live by herself. My parents, I mean my mother and step father, was there that weekend to help with the apartment. Around this time in......

I could work and still get a degree at the same time. After going through the feeling of missing something in my life, I wanted something to fill that void. I wanted a degree to feel special, to feel self-worth inside. I want a degree so badly that I work all day and school work at night. Yes I am so tired but the feeling of self-worth is so deep, so powerful I can’t fight it. I not only want a degree but I need one. No one in my family has one, and I want to be the first to achieve......

I try to say it in the quiet of the green meadow and in the blue sky. The wind whispers My love throughout the treetops and spills it into the vibrant colors of the flowers. All those crimes in every corner of the world, a piece of paper controlling people, suit and tie surpassing the poverty, inequality among men, corruption all over the place, teenagers doing unimaginable things, and even a broken home which I also is one of the products of it, are these events supposed to happen? If people are capable of having an initiative of emphasizing the point of this issue, understanding and fixing ones inner feelings while putting it to work, reducing ones pride and selfishness, respecting each beliefs and if only we value the essence of God’s love for us. How beautiful this place could be, destroying all the system made, and creating a new dimension of our life where we can let God change our hearts. Since the beginning of time, religion has been the topic. People were being criticized, tortured, burnt to death, nailed up on a cross and sacrificed their life, just to keep the faith instilled in them so that future generation will be benefited. In connection, it takes place because we individuals have different way of thinking resulting to a different view on it. Remarkably, different perspective, different faith immersed, and different people with selfishness and pride appeared. Afterward schism intervened between the churches thus, resulting on whom to trust our morality in to. Despite of that separation, a specific point in each life will stand out and that is God.......

...reaching maturity were exceptionally positive. In this paper I will attempt to outline the major aspects of my development and how these have shaped my values. I grew up in the Alpharetta/Roswell area (just outside of Atlanta), a sparsely populated yet relatively prosperous town then, now it is a very wealthy and densely populated city. Today it is, per capita, the wealthiest area in Atlanta. This change has led me to recognize and value growth and progress. I had a fortunate upbringing and I expect my future to be no less prosperous, and if it holds anything less for me I would consider my self a failure. I have become so accustomed to living with nice things in an affluent area, and anything less just would not feel right. From the time I was born to when I first went to school I lived in the same area and in the same house. It is hard to say how this has affected me, but I am well aware that changing location repeatedly can have a negative effect on a child. The house I lived in was relatively nice. It was a common middle-class home; not big but by no means was it small. The house we moved in to in 1994 was larger and in a much nicer neighborhood. Both neighborhoods I lived in were very nice and, in the future, I could not see myself living in anything less suitable. Although it can be hard to remember, I did not have any major family problems in my pre-school years; no deaths in the family, divorce, or anything else equally detrimental. Obviously most......

...My life of 34 years, have been filled with love, happiness, trusting friendships, and a little disappointment from myself. Growing up I had an imagination incorporated with dreams and the feeling that one day I will make a difference to people. I did not want to be famous, however, I had a groaning from inside that I will be important. My journey has taken me on many trips, befriended many, and accomplished some things I was ok with. In this brief summary of my life I will give great tribute to a humanistic psychologist named Abraham Maslow. When I read about him in my psychology class at Olive Harvey College when I was twenty years old his theory was interesting but was not understood at that time in my life. It was not until I was 33, enrolled in a beginners psychology course at Chicago state university, I finally payed attention to his theory of life. The self- actualization stage was where I was at in my life; this feeling inside me was the desire to full my life to its full potential. Becoming all I can be. I had a house, I bought on my own, a job at the University of Chicago for twelve years, and a well rounded well behaved daughter. That was not good enough. My thought was what’s a house? what’s a job? I can be more than a phlebotomist with an associate’s degree in child development. There have been many people who have shaped me thinking and the way I view the world. My mother was my primary caregiver .she married my father, unfortunately, was separated from him......

...another). Hosts can also introduce a guest (and the topic of the interview) by playing a recording or “clip” of the guest talking about the subject. Phone-in/text-in shows: The host invites listeners to phone the station and express their views on a specific topic while the program is on the air. These formats are cheap and easy-to-produce and allow the audience to be part of the program, to direct the conversation and to ask questions. Phone-ins and text-ins are effective at engaging listeners. They work best when the host frames the topic in the form of a question that callers or texters are asked to comment on. When an expert guest takes questions, this format can be a useful way to transmit facts, as those facts will be based on real-life situations. Host chat: Listeners want to have a positive, personal relationship with the program host, and the host can do a lot to encourage that. An effective host creates and builds this friendly relationship by reaching out and sharing his or her concerns and joys and respecting listeners as equals. The host chat usually appears at the beginning and the end of the program, but it can happen at any useful time. Panel discussion: Panels are different from one-on-one interviews because the audience hears a variety of perspectives on a particular issue. This diversity of perspectives can stimulate a fuller, more intensive and compelling discussion. In a panel of women farmers, for example, the women may gather strength from each......

...Throughout my whole life I’ve learned that not everything is rainbows and butterflies. I’ve learned that whatever I do in my life it will never be good enough for my parents. The day of my graduation, I didn’t really feel like going but my parents made me. I had my whole entire family there, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandma, grandpa and of course my siblings and parents. Driving up to my graduation was pretty nerve racking, I kept thinking to myself what if I fall down during my walk across the stage, but thankfully I didn’t. while I was sitting there waiting for my principle and all the valedictorians to stop talking; it was finally my turn to walk across the stage and for a minute I looked at all my family members so they can take a picture and I thought that for once they were proud of me. I have accomplished the impossible, according to them. I was excited to be done with the torture chamber of being high school, as I said bye to “my so called friends” I was glad I wasn’t going to see them anymore, the only friend I had was just my best gay friend. After my graduation was over; I meet my whole entire family outside to take pictures and celebrate what I thought was something they would be proud of. My parents didn’t even say congratulations to me. For a minute I was dumb enough to think everything will change. They told me I needed to graduate with my class and I tried my hardest to achieve that so they could be proud of me; I attended night school classes all my......

Being a teenager is, perhaps, one of the most interesting, intense, and complicated periods in the life of almost any person. In our teen years, our experiences are especially acute and exiting; this age is connected with one’s search of place in the world, of self-identification, and belonging. Teenagers face real world problems more and more often, as well as encounter their first serious challenges and problems: at home, at school, in their relationships. The need to develop new behavioral models and adapt to social norms, and look for one’s place in one’s society can be stressful for a teenager. There are several influential factors that are seen as stressful for adolescents.
One of the first values teenagers hold dear is their popularity among peers. It is important to notice, though, that popularity in this context should be seen as deeper—as a teenager’s striving for acceptance, for fitting in their peer group. Research shows that if teenagers fail to achieve certain levels of popularity (or believe to have done so), they may feel self-doubt (Livestrong.com). Disappointment in their own appearance, lack of romantic relationships, or social status can become
